Q: What is an FAQ?
A: An FAQ is a list of
Frequently Asked
Questions.
We've compiled this list from a wide range of places.
Some came from client inquiries, emails and calls, but most of them came
from experience in providing a free advice service to our clients. If a new
business (or old one for that matter) calls in and needs advice on their
business marketing or an advertising related decision, we offer free advice
with no strings attached. (we expect no business from you in return) The way
we see it, we have been blessed with the knowledge, technology and
experience for the sole purpose of helping others in any way we can. This is
the true meaning of "service". It's "Serve" not "$erve".
So if you have a marketing decision to make and you're
not confident in your own experience, yet you have absolutely no intention
of buying anything from us, give us a call and ask anyway.
It's truly free.
Q: How do I know if
I'm going to like the design
or even the finished product?
A:
Clients are never surprised with the final product because we do a full
color proof and an exact rendering of what it will look like which the
client signs off on before anything goes to print.
Q: How do specials
work?
A: In this business suppliers are often
overstocked on certain products and materials. So we take advantage of these
offers and pass the savings on to you. This is why we will have unique
specials from time to time that will seem surprisingly low. They are for a
limited time only though so if you ever come across one of our special
prices it really won't be around forever.
Q: In Screen
Printing, aren't the set-up fees a "One Time" charge?
A: People commonly confuse an "artwork
set-up charge" with a "screen set-up charge" When we do artwork, we save it
on file for next time. We then open the file and make signs, printing,
advertisements, etc. However, in screen printing, we burn each color
of the image into it's own silk covered screen. (this can be up to 12
different screens per design!) then we have to mount the screens on our
press, line up all the colors (this is called registration) and then we can
print the shirts. When we're done, we have to reclaim the screens for the
next jobs because if we had to store everyone's job we would need to rent
out Dodger Stadium to store them all. (Even if the Dodgers didn't need the
space they were so graciously giving up to us, the image wouldn't last very
long in storage) The next time you order your shirts, we have to go through
all the work of re-burning and setting your job back up on press again. Thus
a set-up charge. (I guess you can call it a "Re-set-up" charge)
Q: When I have you
design something for me (logo, ad, brochure, etc.) do I own the rights to it
or do you?
A: We design for one purpose... YOU.
Our designs belong to us and anything created by
an employee of Beyond Signs & Graphics, Inc. belongs to us, not the
employee. However, we do not necessarily require the ownership of the
artwork. Providing you are in good standing with our financing department,
you may request an ownership certificate. This certificate provides you with
full ownership to the logo, artwork and rights to reproduce. The only thing
we will retain is the right to use it in our marketing (in a respectful
manner) as examples of work we have created.
Q: What if I don't
know what I want?
A: You are not alone. Many people come
to us with a skill or talent to produce a quality product or provide an
outstanding service, yet they have absolutely no design abilities or
creativity and they openly (humbly) admit it. Great! because I can't replace
my radiator on my car either. We all do our parts to make the world go
round'. Our Part is to make your business look good!
Q: Can I supply my
own file?
A: Absolutely! Depending on the work we
are doing for you, we will have some specifications and of course those
specifications are to make your product the best it can be.
Q: What kind of
materials do you use?
A: Since day one, we have been testing
and torturing our suppliers until we have found the best supplies and
materials. We use some of the best materials in the industry 3M, Avery,
GatorFoam, Xerox, etc.
Q: Can I reuse a
banner if I only need minor changes?
A: Since all the artwork is saved on
file, minor alterations such as dates, prices or times are a snap. This is
also true for golf & sports team signs. If your sponsors change, we can peel
off old names and replace them with another, saving you money.
Q: What color
lettering shows up best on glass?
A: This is hard to say unless we see
your window. The background plays a major part in which color to choose.
But... If you do two colors (one being a bold outline) your lettering will
be more legible.
Q: What kind of
payment do you accept?
A: Cash, Money Orders, Cashier's Checks,
Online Payments, Paypal, VISA, Master Card, American Express and Checks (as
long as they're not made of rubber :)
